Frequently Asked Questions About the Book

Who is this book for?

More Life Than Money is intended for individuals approaching or living in retirement who value clarity and practical insight. Written in plain English, it simplifies complex financial concepts and draws on Anthony's decades of experience to highlight the most common mistakes retirees make.

The book also offers thoughtful strategies aimed at helping readers avoid those pitfalls and build dependable income from their portfolios.

Inside the Book
What will I learn from this book?

This book gives you a clearer understanding of how retirement really works. You'll learn about key areas like Social Security claiming strategies, long-term care planning, retirement account distribution strategies, required minimum distribution rules and timing—including how to avoid costly penalties of up to 25%—tax planning strategies including Roth conversion opportunities, and what current stock market trends may be telling us about the future.

It also breaks down the difference between growing your money and living off your money—something many retirees overlook. Throughout the book, Anthony highlights the most common mistakes he's seen over his career and how to avoid them, all explained using real-life examples, stories, and analogies.

Is this book investment advice?
No. This book is an educational resource focused on helping you better understand retirement as a whole—not specific investment advice. Because every individual's situation is unique, it is important to consult with a qualified financial or retirement professional before implementing any strategies discussed.
Is this book suitable for people nearing retirement?
Yes. Anyone within about 10 years of retirement—or already retired—will benefit from the concepts covered. Many of the strategies outlined are available well before retirement and can make a significant difference when implemented early. Waiting until after retirement can limit your options.

More Life Than Money is closely aligned with the core philosophy of Providence Financial and serves as an extension of our overall planning approach. It introduces many of the same concepts we use with clients, including the shift from growth to income, managing risk, and avoiding common retirement pitfalls.

The book provides a solid foundation for understanding how we help clients build sustainable, income-focused retirement plans designed for long-term stability.
